Relationship Therapy

Relationship Therapy

Relationships are central to our lives, from the relationship we have with ourselves to the relationships we have with others, including our marriage, partner, significant other, parent, child, business associate, or friend.  The measure of success we experience in our life is often directly proportionate to how well we’re able to establish and maintain positive, productive relationships in both our personal and professional lives.

Although we’re not born automatically knowing how to develop these kinds of relationships, we can learn. Sometimes there may exist seemingly irreconcilable differences or repeating patterns of distress that need to be identified and resolved.  Other times healthy boundaries may need to be developed to encourage healthy communication and growth.

Between You and Me Counseling understands how important these relationships are to you and brings hope to sometimes hopeless situations.

Family Therapy

Family Therapy

Individuals do not operate in a vacuum; they are part of a broader social web of relationships.  The family system is a dynamic, evolving unit that has immense impact on the ability of a client to grow and live their life to the fullest.  Present situations and behaviors can sometimes be better understood in terms of the present or past interlocking relationships.  Family Therapy is based on the assumption that an understanding of an individual’s emotional state sometimes extends beyond the individual to those systems that support or challenge any unhealthy behavior.

Our counselors have found that at times it is necessary to involve family members not only to help identify the concern but to begin to develop support structures for the client to encourage sustained change. Frequently, if family members are not involved, the individual will revert to old patterns due to lack of support.

Our Counselors understand this powerful dynamic and provide sessions to engage the whole family unit in a spirit of healing and growth, not only for the individual but for the family unit.
