Family Therapy

Family Therapy

Individuals do not operate in a vacuum; they are part of a broader social web of relationships.  The family system is a dynamic, evolving unit that has immense impact on the ability of a client to grow and live their life to the fullest.  Present situations and behaviors can sometimes be better understood in terms of the present or past interlocking relationships.  Family Therapy is based on the assumption that an understanding of an individual’s emotional state sometimes extends beyond the individual to those systems that support or challenge any unhealthy behavior.

Our counselors have found that at times it is necessary to involve family members not only to help identify the concern but to begin to develop support structures for the client to encourage sustained change. Frequently, if family members are not involved, the individual will revert to old patterns due to lack of support.

Our Counselors understand this powerful dynamic and provide sessions to engage the whole family unit in a spirit of healing and growth, not only for the individual but for the family unit.
